The impact is clear enough: Instruction on gender and sexuality would be constrained in all grades. One sentence has earned the bill the “Don’t Say Gay” nickname: It could have far-reaching implications for Florida children, potentially even those who have no connection to L.G.B.T.Q. Most of the bill would affect how mental health services are delivered to the state’s children and adolescents and how much control parents can have over those conversations.
